Different Types of Rodeo Queen Titles

  1. local

Local rodeo queen titles are those that represent a local rodeo, fair or horse-club. These are the pageants rodeo queens start out in, as there is varying degrees of pageant levels. These titles can be for rodeos in a variety of organizations such as the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and the International Professional Rodeo Association. For local titles there are no pre-title requirements other than completing the entire application and sending it in on time.

  2. regional

Regional titles hold a bigger area than local titles, sometimes representing more than one rodeo in a specific area. The most common regional titles are the Highschool districts or regions, where these queens will often go on and compete for the Highschool state title. Check out your states Highschool Rodeo Districts here.

  3. state

State titles are just as they sound, they encompass the entire states rodeos for a particular association. Often there is more than one “state” queen in states that have their own association. For example California has their PRCA State Queen, as well as the California Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association Queen, both are considered state titles but for different organizations. One unique fact about PRCA state titleholders is that they are the only women eligible to compete at Miss Rodeo America.

  4. circuit

Circuit titles vary from state titles in that circuits can accompany more than one state and they don’t qualify you to compete at a national level title. For example the Miss Wilderness Circuit title encompasses the states of Idaho, Utah, and Nevada, however there are also PRCA state titles for Idaho, Utah and Nevada which then go on to the Miss Rodeo America pageant.

  5. national

National titles are the highest level of rodeo queen title and encompass the Miss Rodeo America , Miss Rodeo USA and Miss Rodeo Canada pageants. There is also national titles for National High School Rodeo Association and National Little Britches Rodeo Association. National titles tend to have previous title requirements in order to compete, such as you must first hold a PRCA State Title in order to compete at Miss Rodeo America. Or have a sponsored title in order to compete at Miss Rodeo USA.
