Where to Find Rodeo Queen Clothing

Outfits, Outfits, Outfits

The very thing that people always associate with rodeo queens: sparkling outfits covered in rhinestones. But some of these pageant outfits are not something you can just walk into a store and have ready to go on stage. The typical evening gowns and speech dresses you see on stage at Miss Rodeo America are made by designers and can be very expensive as they are usually leather and covered in hundreds of Swarovski crystals custom made for each girl. However, custom leather dresses are fading from being the only appropriate pageant dress norm, and with a little imagination fabric dresses can fulfill the role.

Facebook

If you have noticed a trend Facebook is the biggest hub for rodeo queens, and that goes for outfits as well. Many Facebook groups exist just for the buying and reselling of rodeo queen clothes. Whether someone is selling or renting a custom outfit made for them, or adding western elements to off the rack clothes, or even reselling their homemade clothing, Facebook can be a great way to find outfits or get inspiration to Do It Yourself.

Do It Yourself

With some imagination and creativity outfits can be made and personalized specifically to your tastes. Off the rack button up shirts and dresses can easily be modified for rodeo queens by adding rhinestones, patches or appliques. Instead of buying rhinestones from a hobby store, buy them online where they are not only better quality but often cheaper and available in many more styles and colors. Etsy and eBay can be a great place to find patches and appliques. Plus if you are on a budget and have access to a sewing machine, tailoring your own clothes and even making your own clothes can be a fun way to personalize your rodeo queen clothes, plus if a judge asks why you choose the outfit you have a story to tell them.

Another component to DIY is dyeing your own jeans to match a top. Typically white jeans can be dyed any color and can level up any outfit. While Rit Dye is the most common, Facebook groups have all sorts of tips, tricks and preferred items to use when dyeing jeans and even painting boots.
